Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 (NIV)

I want to be a SUPER MODEL

I want to be a super model.  Not on the outside, but on the inside.  I want my inner beauty and the Holy Spirit to shine.  It seems that I have grown a bit U-G-L-Y, especially at home.   I have harbored anger at others.  I must admit, I am a work in progress.   Now it is time to drench myself in God's Holy Word and pass it on to my kids.  I want my character to look the same in public as I do at home.   I want to be the same softhearted person at home that I am at church.

when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.  1 Peter 2-4

It seems to me that our at home Bible studies are lacking.  So, today, my kids and I are going to start with the following Bible verse and we will break it down for about 9 days.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  Galatians 5:22-23

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

I want to be a person of the spirit and I want my actions to show it. . . a person after God's own heart, like David from the Bible.  I hope you want to be a super model, too.

Hanbok

She was shy with all the people staring at her and taking pictures of her.

Her 2nd birthday was small and very simple.  Her hanbok is so beautiful.   I thank her foster momma for picking it out.  I LOVE the red and green.

My thoughts were on her birth mother and her foster mother.  I pray that they are both well.

We were blessed to spend her actual day with the 2 families that we kept in contact with while going through the adoption process.   D made Korean food for all of us.  It was YUMMY!  It was so great to be with those friends.

Live Spelled Backwards

L-I-V-E spelled backwards is evil.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
1 John 4:16

The opposite of live = death.  Apart from God is evil, which leads to eternal death.

A while ago, I was talking to a young woman about her partying and drinking and her decisions that were not of God.  She exclaimed to me, "I just want to experience life."

That is how this world teaches us to live. . . apart from God.   The truth was, she doesn't want to experience life, she wanted to experience sin.

At one point in time, this person was me.   Not what she was doing, but her way of thinking.

If you want to experience life, experience GOOD things because. . .

Taste and see that the LORD is good.
Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
Fear the LORD, you his godly people,
for those who fear him will have all they need.
Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry,
but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing.
Psalm 34:8-10

GOOD NEWS!!! and WARNINGS

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ.

It is the power of God at work,

saving everyone who believes. . . Romans 1:16a

The Bible tells us about the Good News of Christ.  He layed down HIS life for us.  HE then came back to LIFE.  He is ALIVE.  We are/were filth and HE saved us.  He was a picture for us to follow.

Christ is coming back.  He'll only take what belongs to HIM.  Everyone else will burn in the eternal fire.
If you are living in sin (whether you proclaim Christian or not), I ask you to read Romans 1:18-32 and Romans 2:1-16.    (Actually, it is hard to tell you only to read that far.  All of Romans 2 is good also. And then keep reading after that.)

Jesus will be returning soon.  Don't wait until tomorrow to seek HIM.

If You are HIS

If you are HIS then, how have you strayed so far?

May HIS mercy and grace be upon you.

Sidenote:  This is a message directed at someone that is now living several hundred's of miles away from me.  His faith has been shaken and he has taken his eyes off of the Lord.  I pray that the Lord comes back into your vision SOON and you can see TRUTH again.

You introduced me to P.U.S.H.  Pray. Until. Something. Happens.  I will keep praying for you.

Love Your Enemies

Yesterday my best friend and I got together to pray.  One thing she brought up was to love your enemies.  The Bible verse for the day on biblegateway.com is this:

“[Love for Enemies] “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” Matthew 5:43-45 NIV

A Year of NO EXCUSES

There are children less than 24 hours a way from us that live in filth.  They have no parent to care for them.  Or they have one parent that works so hard that they don't have time or energy to care for them, just to feed them once a day if at all.
We  have plenty of excuses.  I have plenty of excuses.  We have so many distractions in this country that we forget WHO GOD really is.  The TRUE GOD.

Everything has been given to us so easily in the U.S.  We whine when our kids don't get gifts on Christmas, yet some go without food daily.   Day after day. Some go without love, touch, and cuddles.  NIGHT after NIGHT.

WHAT IF GOD replaced that child's life with yours? What if that child turned his/her back on you?

In our Bible Study our teacher (Debbie P.) asked us, "What if this was the year of no excuses?"

So, what would our lives look like if it was the LIFE of no excuses?

What would happen if we truly followed Jesus EVERY. SINGLE. DAY?

I'll tell you what would happen:

TRANSFORMATION and REJOICING  for HIS GLORY

We would be introduced to a life we've never known.  We would know JOY like we've never known.  We would LIVE instead of pretending to live.  We would laugh and we would dance.  Yes, at times there would be sorrow, but that is because there is sin in the world.  BUT GOD OVERCOMES sin. We would know JESUS like we never thought possible.

Matthew 10:39  Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Psalm 37:4

I should have posted this yesterday on 2/6/12.  I received the book, "Kisses from Katie," in the mail.  Her favorite verse is Psalm 37:4.

I dare you to read her book and not have a heart change.

Another Sample of What/ When / How God Speaks

My daily devotional is a mixture of many different people from many different walks with Jesus.  This is the one from today:

Learn to do right; seek justice.
Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow.  Isaiah 1:17

God keeps telling me the same thing over and over again.  Help the fatherless, help the fatherless, help the widow, look after the weak, care for who is MINE.

What I wanted to tell you today was this:  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

Followed  by:  Take delight in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

I encourage you to read all of Psalm 37.

Have a BLESSED DAY!

Do YOU Hear THEM?

Lately, I've been noticing how much luxury I have in my life while other people suffer. The above picture is our double car garage.  My garage is bigger than most family homes are in the world (excluding the U.S.).

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Can you hear the orphan crying?  What are you going to do?  Turning your back is not an option.  The following link is a link to the Cry of the Orphan Web Site.  The page it links to is their media page.  You can hear testimonials.  Adoption is not for everyone, but caring for the ORPHANS and WIDOWS is the job of EVERY Christian.

May God be GLORIFIED through you.
